SHIP - Shale Gas Information Platform

With the Shale Gas Information Platform SHIP, an international expert group engages in the public discussion of technical and environmental issues related to shale gas exploration and production. SHIP was brought together by the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam GFZ - German Research Centre for Geosciences. With news, basic information and expert articles, SHIP features the scientific perspective within the current debate, adding factual argument to the pros and cons discussed publicly.



GeoEn is a joint research program on geoenergy in Germany. It combines geoenergy research expertise from across the federal state of Brandenburg. The regional research network has three major partners: the Brandenburg Technical Universität of Cottbus (BTU), the University of Potsdam (UP) and the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam – German Research Centre for Geosciences GFZ.


RPSEA - Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America

RPSEA is a multi-purpose entity established to facilitate a cooperative effort to identify and develop new methods and integrated systems for exploring, producing, and transporting-to-market energy or other derivative products from ultra-deepwater and unconventional natural gas and other petroleum resources, and to ensure that small producers continue to have access to the technical and knowledge resources necessary to continue their important contribution to energy production in the U.S.

Shale Research Centre

The CSIRO "The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation" is Australia's national science agency and one of the largest and most diverse research agencies in the world.

The Shale Research Centre conducts experimental and theoretical research on shale properties and problems. CSIRO is currently developing a shale gas program to cover research issues and the delivery of services to the Australian industry.
